Resource Usage Summary Section (Compilation Report)

Provides summary information about how the device uses available resources.

The following table shows the number of clock pins, dedicated input pins, fast I/O pins for APEX 20KE, APEX II, ARM®-based Excalibur, and Mercury devices, global signals, I/O pins, logic elements, logic cells, Embedded System Blocks (ESBs) or Embedded Array Blocks (EABs), product terms, and flipflops (that is, registers) used to implement logic in the target device, as well as the number of FastRow interconnects used in APEX 20KE, APEX II, and ARM-based Excalibur devices. In addition, the table shows the maximum fan-out; the location of the maximum fan-out node; the total fan-out, which counts the total number of data outputs to logic cells; the average fan-out, which is the total fan-out divided by the number of logic cells required; the number of product term bits used; the number of non-content-addressable memory (CAM) bits used; the number of CAM bits used; the total number of bits and memory bits used in the ESBs or EABs; and the total number of RAM block bits. The numbers of bits used are displayed both as ratios and as percentages.

If you specified a Mercury device for compilation, the table also shows the number of HSDI PLLs used to implement logic in the device and the percentage of logic elements in multiplier mode.

If you specified a MAX® 3000 or MAX 7000 device for compilation, the table also shows the number of shareable and parallel expanders used, and the number of cells with the Turbo Bit logic option turned on.

If you specified a Stratix or Stratix GX device for compilation, the table also shows the number of M512 and M4K memory blocks and mega RAMs used; the number of DSP block 9-bit elements; the total number of PLLs; the number of enhanced PLLs and fast PLLs; the number of global, regional, fast regional, and differential I/O clocks; the number of SERDES transmitters and receivers; and for Stratix GX devices only, the number of GXB receiver and GXB transmitter channels used.

If you specified a Cyclone device for compilation, the table also shows the number of M4K memory blocks and PLLs used.
