Specifying Compiler Settings for Timing-Driven Compilation



To specify timing-driven compilation settings for ACEX® 1K, APEX 20K, APEX II, ARM®-based Excalibur, Cyclone, FLEX® 6000, FLEX 10KE, Mercury, Stratix, or Stratix GX devices:

  1. If you have not already done so, create a new project or open an existing project.

  2. If you have not already done so, specify the current Compiler settings.

  3. If you have not already done so, specify the design entity you want to compile.

  4. Choose Settings (Assignments menu).  Shortcut

  5. In the Category list, select Fitting under Compiler Settings.

  6. To specify the type of timing-driven compilation you want the Fitter to perform, turn on or off one or both options under Timing-driven compilation.  Guidelines

  7. If you turned on Optimize timing under Timing-driven compilation and specified a FLEX 6000 device, select Normal compilation or Extra effort in the Optimize timing list.

  8. Click OK.
