Specifying EDA Tool Input Settings



To specify options for processing design files created by other EDA tools:

  1. If you have not already done so, create a new project or open an existing project.

  2. Choose Settings (Assignments menu) Shortcut.

  3. In the Categories list, select EDA Tool Settings.

  4. In the EDA tools list, select Design entry/synthesis.

  5. In the Tool name list, select the name of design entry or synthesis tool, or select CustomMore Details

  6. Click Settings.

  7. In the EDA Tool Input Settings dialog box, make sure that the correct tool name or option is selected in the Design entry/synthesis tool list.

  8. In the Data Format box, enter the type of input file you are importing into the Quartus® II software.  More Details

  9. If you selected EDIF in the Data Format list, you can specify non-default VCC or GND signal name(s). If you want to change these names, type the new names in the VCC and GND boxes under Signal NamesMore Details

  10. If you want to use a non-default Library Mapping File (.lmf), under Library mapping file, type the file name in the File name box, or select it with Browse (...). More Details

  11. To display messages about LMF mapping during compilation, turn on Show information messages describing LMF mapping during compilation.

  12. To generate the back-annotation data for performing for the Quartus II-Mentor Graphics® LeonardoSpectrum TimeCloser flow, turn on Generate back-annotation data for timing closure.

    NOTE This option is only supported for APEX 20K, APEX 20KC, APEX 20KE, APEX II, and ARM®-based Excalibur designs.

  13. If you want to restore settings to the original defaults for your design entry or synthesis tool, click Reset.
