More Details About Design Entry/Synthesis Tool List

In the Design Entry/Synthesis Tool list, you can specify the specific name for the design entry/synthesis tool you are using, or you can also select Custom or <None> from the list.

If you select a specific tool name for Design entry/synthesis tool, the default VCC and GND settings for that tool are shown under Signal names, and the Altera-provided Library Mapping File (.lmf) for that tool is shown under Library Mapping File. If you change any of these settings, you can click Reset to restore settings to the original defaults.

If you select Custom for Design entry/synthesis tool, you can define new settings for the GND and VCC options under Signal names. You can also change any custom settings you defined previously.

If you keep the default selection <None>, no settings are defined, and no output files are generated.

The setting for the Design entry/synthesis tool is automatically copied to the settings for any new project you create, so that you do not need to re-enter it every time you create a new project.
