EDA Interfaces

Design Entry/Synthesis Tool

Specifies the EDA Tool you are using to perform design entry or HDL synthesis. If you select a specific tool name, the Compiler uses the default settings for that tool. To define customized settings, select Custom.

If you select a specific tool for Design entry/synthesis tool, the default VCC and GND settings for that tool are shown under Signal names, and the Altera-provided Library Mapping File (.lmf) for that tool is shown under Library Mapping File. You can type new settings for the GND and VCC options under Signal names or specify a different LMF in the File name box under Library Mapping File.

You can change all of the settings in this dialog box, and you can click Reset to restore settings to the original defaults for your design entry/synthesis tool.

The setting for the Design entry/synthesis tool is automatically copied to the settings for any new project you create, so that you do not need to re-enter it every time you create a new project.
