Specifying Routing Paths for ARM-Based Excalibur Dual-Port RAM Signals

To specify routing paths for dual-port RAM input signals, output signals, and other signals (such as address and control signals) for an ARM®-based Excalibur device:

  1. If you have not already done so, create a new project or open an existing project.

  2. If you have not already done so, specify the current Compiler settings.

  3. If you have not already done so, specify the design entity you want to compile.

  4. Choose Settings (Assignments menu).  Shortcut

  5. In the Category list, select Device under Compiler Settings.

  6. Specify an ARM-based Excalibur device or any device in the ARM-based Excalibur device family for the current Compiler settings.

  7. Click Routing Options.

  8. If you specified that the Compiler must use a specific EPXA1 device for compilation, or that the Compiler must choose the ARM-based Excalibur device with the most appropriate density for the design, click the EPXA1 DPRAM tab.

    or

If you specified that the Compiler must use a specific EPXA4 or EPXA10 device for compilation, click the EPXA4/10 DPRAM tab.

  9. In the Existing dual-port RAM routing settings list, select the dual-port RAM mode for which you want to specify dual-port RAM signal routing paths.

  10. In the Input signals list for EPXA1 dual-port RAM or EPXA4 and EPXA10 dual-port RAM, select a routing path for the dual-port RAM input signals.

  11. In the Output signals list for EPXA1 dual-port RAM or EPXA4 and EPXA10 dual-port RAM, select a routing path for the dual-port RAM output signals.

  12. In the Others signals list for EPXA1 dual-port RAM or EPXA4 and EPXA10 dual-port RAM, select a routing path for other signals, such as address and control signals, for the dual-port RAM.

  13. If you specified that the Compiler must choose the ARM-based Excalibur device with the most appropriate density for the design, click the EPXA4/10 DPRAM tab and repeat steps 10 through 13.

  14. Click OK.
