Changing the Hardware Setup



To change the hardware setup using the Programming Hardware Setup dialog box:

  1. If you have not already done so, create a Chain Description File (.cdf) or open an existing CDF.

  2. If you have not already done so, attach a download cable to the appropriate port on the computer:

    1. Attach a MasterBlaster download cable to an RS-232 cable connected to a serial RS-232 port on the PC, UNIX, or Linux workstation, or a USB cable connected to a USB port on the PC.

    2. Attach a ByteBlasterMV or ByteBlaster II cable to a fully populated DB25-to-DB25 cable connected to a parallel port.

    3. Attach an APU to a USB cable connected to a USB port on the PC.

  3. Under Programming Hardware, click Setup.

  4. Click the Hardware Settings tab.

  5. If necessary, click Add Hardware to add a hardware setup.  Read This First

  6. In the Hardware list, select the hardware setup from that you want to use.

  7. Click Select Hardware.

  8. To remove a hardware setup from the Hardware list, perform the following steps:

    1. Select the hardware setup you want to remove.

    2. Click Remove Hardware.

  9. Click the JTAG Settings tab.

  10. If necessary, add a JTAG server to the JTAG Servers list.

  11. To remove a JTAG server from the JTAG Servers list, perform the following steps:

    1. Select the JTAG server you want to remove.

    2. Click Remove Server.

  12. If you want, you can allow remote users to access your local JTAG server and use your programming hardware.

  13. Click Close.
