To program a single device with the Altera^® Programming Unit (APU):

1. Attach the APU to the USB port on the PC.

2. Plug an adapter into the APU.

3. Open the adapter.

4. Insert a device into the socket of the adapter, orienting the device according to the image on the adapter.  Read This First

5. Close the adapter.

6. Open the Chain Description File (.cdf) that contains the programming file with which you want to program the device.

7. Change the hardware setup to select the APU you attached to the PC.

8. In the Mode list, select In-Socket Programming.

9. If you want, in the programming list, turn on one or more programming options.  Read This First

10. Click Start.  Read This First
