To open a file:

1. Choose Open (File menu).  Shortcut

2. In the Open dialog box, select the file type of the file you want in the Files of type list.  Read This First

3. Select an existing file in the Files list or type a file name in the File name box.

4. If you want, turn on Add file to current project.

5. Click Open.

Alternative Procedure for Opening a File

To open a Memory Initialization File (.mif) or Hexadecimal (Intel-Format) File (.hex):

1. Choose Open (File menu).  Shortcut

2. In the Open dialog box, select Memory Files (*.mif, *.hex) in the Files of type list.

3. Select a MIF or HEX File in the Files list or type the file name in the File name box.

4. If you want, turn on Add file to current project.

5. Click Open.

To close a file:
