Programming File Generation



Specifies the following options for generating programming files during a software build:

None

Directs the Software Builder to not generate programming files during a software build.

Flash memory configuration

Directs the Software Builder to generate a flash programming file for an ARM®-based Excalibur device.

If you want the flash programming file to contain configuration data for the programmable logic device (PLD) portion of the ARM-based Excalibur device, type the name of a Slave Binary Image File (.sbi) in the Flash memory configuration box, or select an SBI File with Browse (...).

Passive configuration

Directs the Software Builder to generate passive programming files for an ARM-based Excalibur device.

NOTE The Software Builder generates Programmer Object Files (.pof) for EPC2 configuration devices only. If you want to generate POFs for other configuration devices, use the Convert Programming Files command (File menu) to convert one or more SRAM Object Files (.sof) into a POF.

You must type the name of a programmable logic Partial SRAM Object File (.psof) in the Passive configuration box, or select a PSOF with Browse (...). The PSOF contains configuration data for the PLD portion of the ARM-based Excalibur device.

You must perform the following actions in the CPU page of the Settings dialog box (Assignments menu) to make the options under Programming file generation available:
