EPF10K50S Devices



The EPF10K50S, a member of the FLEX 10K® device family, provides 3,184 registers, 40,960 memory bits, and 50,000 typical gates. These elements make the EPF10K50S suitable for complex logic functions and memory functions such as digital signal processing, wide data-path manipulation, data transformation, and microcontrollers, as required in high-performance communications applications. The EPF10K50S contains an embedded array to implement memory functions, a logic array to implement general logic functions, and a high pin count to enable an effective interface with system components. You can integrate entire systems, including 32-bit buses, into a single EPF10K50S. The EPF10K50S meets the low power and voltage requirements of 2.5-V applications ranging from notebook computers to battery-operated, hand-held equipment.

The EPF10K50S is available in 144-pin TQFP packages with 96 I/O pins, 208-pin PQFP packages with 141 I/O pins, 240-pin PQFP packages with 183 I/O pins, 256-pin FineLine BGA® packages with 185 I/O pins, 356-pin BGA packages with 217 I/O pins, and 484-pin FineLine BGA packages with 248 I/O pins. The device has 2,880 logic cells grouped into 360 LABs, which are arranged into 10 rows and 36 columns. The embedded arrays consist of a series of Embedded Array Blocks (EAB), each of which provides 4,096 bits that can be used to create RAM or ROM, or to contribute 100 to 600 gates toward combinatorial logic functions.

Each I/O cell contains a bidirectional I/O buffer and a flipflop that can be used as either an input or output register. The EPF10K50S also contains six dedicated fast inputs for synchronous control signals with large fan-outs. When used as outputs, the I/O registers provide fast clock-to-output times; as inputs, they provide quick setup times. In addition, devices with the suffix "X," such as EPF10K50STC144-1X devices, include built-in ClockLock® phase-locked loop circuitry. The EPF10K50S also supports ICR and JTAG BST. The EPF10K50S JTAG Instruction Register length is 10; the Boundary-Scan Register length is 798; and the JTAG ID code is 110500DD.
