EP20K200C & EP20K200E Devices



The EP20K200C and EP20K200E, members of the APEX 20K device family, provide 8,688 registers; 106,496 memory bits; and 200,000 typical gates. These devices are suitable for memory functions and complex logic functions such as digital signal processing, wide data-path manipulation, data transformation, and microcontrollers. The high-pin-count EP20K200C and EP20K200E devices contain an embedded array to implement memory functions and a logic array to implement general logic functions. You can integrate entire systems, including 32-bit buses, into a single EP20K200E device. These devices meet the low-voltage requirements of 1.8-V applications and support multiple low-voltage I/O standards.

The EP20K200C and EP20K200E are available in 208-pin PQFP packages with 128 I/O pins, 240-pin PQFP packages with 160 I/O pins, 356-pin BGA packages with 263 I/O pins, and 484-pin FineLine BGA® packages with 368 I/O pins. The EP20K200E is also available in 652-pin BGA packages with 368 I/O pins, and 672-pin FineLine BGA packages with 368 I/O pins.  (See Note (11))  These devices have 8,320 logic elements grouped into 52 MegaLAB structures, each of which consists of 16 LABs and one Embedded System Block (ESB). These MegaLAB structures are arranged into 26 rows and two columns. The embedded array consists of a series of ESBs, each of which provides 2,048 programmable bits that can be configured as product-term logic, look-up-table-based logic, or various types of memory: content-addressable memory (CAM), dual-port RAM, ROM, or FIFO buffers. The EP20K200C and EP20K200E JTAG Instruction Register length is 10; the Boundary-Scan Register length is 1164; and the JTAG ID code is 082000DD.

Each I/O cell contains a bidirectional I/O buffer and a flipflop that can be used as either an input or output register. When used as outputs, the I/O registers provide fast clock-to-output times; as inputs, they provide quick setup times. The EP20K200C and EP20K200E also contain four dedicated clock pins and four dedicated fast I/O pins for synchronous control signals with large fan-outs. In addition, several of the devices with the suffix, "X," such as, EP20K200EQC208-1X devices, include built-in ClockLock® and ClockBoost® phase-locked loop circuitry.

All EP20K200C and EP20K200E devices—with the exception of PQFP packages—support the LVDS I/O standard on dedicated clock signals.
