EP20K100 Devices



The EP20K100, a member of the APEX 20K device family, provides 4,406 registers; 53,248 memory bits; and 100,000 typical gates. It is suitable for memory functions and complex logic functions such as digital signal processing, wide data-path manipulation, data transformation, and microcontrollers. The high-pin-count EP20K100 device contains an embedded array to implement memory functions and a logic array to implement general logic functions. You can integrate entire systems, including 32-bit buses, into a single EP20K100 device. The EP20K100 device meets the low-voltage requirements of 2.5-V applications and supports multiple I/O standards.

The EP20K100 is available in 144-pin TQFP packages with 95 I/O pins, 208-pin PQFP packages with 153 I/O pins, 240-pin PQFP packages with 183 I/O pins, 324-pin FineLine BGA® packages with 246 I/O pins, and 356-pin BGA with 246 I/O pins.  (See Note (11))  The device has 4,160 logic elements grouped into 26 MegaLAB structures, each of which consists of 16 LABs and one Embedded System Block (ESB). These MegaLAB structures are arranged into 13 rows and two columns. The embedded array consists of a series of ESBs, each of which provides 2,048 programmable bits that can be configured as product-term logic, look-up-table-based logic, or various types of memory: dual-port RAM, ROM, or FIFO buffers. The EP20K100 JTAG Instruction Register length is 10; the Boundary-Scan Register length is 786; and the JTAG ID code is 004160DD.

Each I/O cell contains a bidirectional I/O buffer and a flipflop that can be used as either an input or output register. When used as outputs, the I/O registers provide fast clock-to-output times; as inputs, they provide quick setup times. The EP20K100 also contains six dedicated fast inputs for synchronous control signals with large fan-outs. In addition, devices with suffix, "X," such as, EP20K100TC144-1X devices, include ClockLock® and ClockBoost® phase-locked loop circuitry.
