To open the HardCopy^™ HC20K Power Calculator page on the Altera^® web site, which you can use to estimate the power requirements for a supported APEX^™ 20KC or APEX 20KE design you are converting for HardCopy devices:

1. If you have not already done so, create a new project or open an existing project.

2. If you have not already done so, specify Compiler settings for a supported design.

3. Specify project-wide, HardCopy-specific timing requirements that are not available for Quartus^® II designs, but are necessary for estimating power consumption:

   1. Choose Settings (Assignments menu).  Shortcut

   2. In the Category list, select HardCopy Settings.

   3. Type the project-wide timing requirements in the Minimum required Tco, Minimum required Tpd, and Default external clock jitter boxes under HardCopy timing settings.

   4. Click OK.

4. If you have not already done so, specify individual and project-wide timing requirements for the design you are converting.

5. Compile the design.

6. Choose HardCopy Power Estimation (Project menu).  More Details
