To assign clock settings to a clock signal:

1. If you have not already done so, create a new project or open an existing project.

2. Create clock settings.

3. Open the Assignment Organizer dialog box.

4. Click the By Node tab.

5. Under Mode, select Edit specific entity & node settings for.

6. If necessary, copy an entity or node name to the Name box with the Node Finder dialog box.

7. If necessary, turn on Show assignments inherited from higher hierarchical levels & project defaults.

8. Under Assignment Categories click the + icon next to Timing.

9. Click Click here to add a new assignment.

10. If necessary, read the description about timing assignments.

11. Under Assignment, select Clock Settings in the Name list.

12. Under Assignment, select the name of the clock settings you want to assign to the signal in the Setting list.

13. Under Stored in assignments for, select This instance only, This instance in all occurrences of its parent entity, or Other.

    1. If you selected Other, click Customize if you want to view the hierarchy from the top-level down to the level where the selected item(s) are instantiated.

    2. In the Select Hierarchy dialog box, click OK.

14. Click Add.

15. Click OK or Apply.
