To create a design file from a selected block:

1. If you have not already done so, open or create a Block Design File (.bdf).

2. Create a block.

3. Select a block.

4. Choose Create/Update > Create Design File from Selected Block (File menu).  Shortcut  More Details

5. If a design file for the block already exists, when you are prompted, choose Yes to update the existing design file or No to leave the design file unchanged and create a new design file.

6. In the Create Design File dialog box, under Fill type, select the HDL file type for your design file.

7. Turn on or off Add the new design file to the current project.

8. In the File Name box, type the file name or select the file name with Browse (...).

9. Click OK.
