To set the trigger input: Read This First

1. If you want to connect a node from the design to the trigger input, perform an analysis and synthesis, an analysis and elaboration, or a compilation on the design.

2. If necessary, open a SignalTap^® II File (.stp), or create a new STP File.

3. In the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer window, click the Setup tab.

4. Under Signal Configuration, turn on Trigger In.

5. In the Pattern list, select the appropriate input condition.  More Details

6. To assign the trigger input signal to a device I/O pin with the Assign Pins dialog box:

Follow steps 2 through 21 in Assigning Pins.




7. To set the Trigger Input signal to trigger on a different instance:

1. Turn on Trigger Out.

2. Select the instance name from the Target list.

8. If you want to connect a node from the design to the trigger input, select a pin name with Browse (...).

To rename the trigger input pin:

Type the name of the pin in the Source box, or select a pin name with Browse (...).
