EP1K10 Devices



The EP1K10, a member of the ACEX® 1K device family, provides 706 registers, 12,288 memory bits, and 10,000 typical gates. These elements make the EP1K10 suitable for complex logic functions and memory functions such as digital signal processing, wide data-path manipulation, data transformation, and microcontrollers, as required in high-performance communications applications. The EP1K10 contains an embedded array to implement memory functions, a logic array to implement general logic functions, and a high pin count to enable an effective interface with system components. Built using an advanced 0.22-µm/0.18-µm hybrid process and using a low, 2.5-V core operating voltage, the EP1K10 meets the requirements of low-cost, high-volume applications ranging from DSL modems to low-cost switches.

The EP1K10 is available in 100-pin TQFP packages with 60 I/O pins, 144-pin TQFP packages with 86 I/O pins, 208-pin PQFP packages with 114 I/O pins, and 256-pin FineLine BGA® packages with 130 I/O pins. The device has 576 logic cells grouped into 72 LABs, which are arranged into three rows and 24 columns. The embedded array consists of a series of Embedded Array Blocks (EAB), each of which provides 4,096 bits that can be used to create RAM or ROM, or to contribute 100 to 600 gates toward combinatorial logic functions.

Each I/O cell contains a bidirectional I/O buffer and a flipflop that can be used as either an input or output register. The EP1K10 also contains six dedicated fast inputs for synchronous control signals with large fan-outs. When used as outputs, the I/O registers provide fast clock-to-output times; as inputs, they provide quick setup times. The EP1K10 also supports ICR and JTAG BST. The EP1K10 JTAG Instruction Register length is 10; the Boundary-Scan Register length is 438; and the JTAG ID code is 110100DD.
