Performing a SignalProbe Compilation on a Design



To perform a SignalProbe compilation on a design:  Read This First

  1. If you have not already done so, create a new project or open an existing project.

  2. Specify Compiler settings.

  3. Assign SignalProbe pins.

  4. Choose Settings (Assignments menu).  Shortcut

  5. In the Category list, select Device under Compiler Settings.

  6. Click Assign Pins.  Shortcut

  7. In the Assign Pins dialog box, turn on Show current and potential SignalProbe pins.

  8. In the Available pins & existing assignments list, select the pin number for the pin to which you want to add, change, or delete a SignalProbe source.

  9. To delete the SignalProbe source from the pin, under Assignment, click Delete.

  10. To add a new SignalProbe source to the pin, or change the existing SignalProbe source for the pin, under Assignment, type a new SignalProbe source name in the Pin name box.  Read This First

    or

    Copy the SignalProbe source to the Assign Pins dialog box with the Node Finder.  Read This First

  11. To save the changed SignalProbe source and add the source to the Available pins & existing assignments list, under Assignment, click Change.

  12. Repeat steps 9 to 11 for each additional SignalProbe source you want to add, change, or delete.

  13. If you want to enable or disable individual pins for a SignalProbe compilation:

    1. In the Available pins & existing assignments list, select the pin number for the pin you want to enable.

    2. Under Assignment, click SignalProbe enable.

  14. To enable all pins for SignalProbe routing, under Assignment, click Enable All SignalProbe Routing.

  15. or

    To disable all pins for SignalProbe routing, click Disable All SignalProbe Routing.

  16. Click OK.

  17. Start the SignalProbe compilation.  More Details
