SignalProbe feature

A feature that routes user-specified signals to output pins without disturbing the existing fitting. Once you specify which signals are routed, the SignalProbe feature allows you to debug signals without completing a full compilation. This option is available for only APEX 20K, APEX 20KE, APEX II, ARM®-based Excalibur, Cyclone, Stratix, and Stratix GX devices.

NOTE Before using the SignalProbe feature, you must perform a smart compilation by turning on Smart compilation/more disk space in the Mode page under Compiler Settings in the Settings dialog box (Assignments menu). If you want to reserve a specific pin or pins for SignalProbe use, you must reserve the pin or pins before performing a smart compilation. Also, before copying a legal SignalProbe source with the Node Finder dialog box, you must specify the SignalProbe filter.
