LogicLock Regions

LogicLock import settings

Specifies whether to create new LogicLock regions, update the currently selected LogicLock region(s), or both.

When you select either Create new LogicLock regions and update the currently selected LogicLock region(s) or Create new LogicLock regions, but do not update the currently selected LogicLock region(s), the Quartus® II software traverses the design hierarchy starting at the current compilation focus and, for each entity, imports the assignment types specified under Assignment categories into the current project. If you used the LogicLock Import File Name logic option to specify the LogicLock import file for an entity, that entity's assignments are imported from the specified file. If you did not specify the LogicLock import file for an entity, that entity's assignments are imported from the entity's Entity Settings File (.esf). If the current compilation hierarchy contains multiple instances of an entity, the Quartus II software instantiates one set of assignments for each instance.

When you select either Create new LogicLock regions and update the currently selected LogicLock region(s) or Do not create new LogicLock regions, only update the currently selected LogicLock region(s), the Quartus II software reimports the assignments for the region(s) currently selected in the LogicLock Regions window into the current project. These commands can be used only to update LogicLock regions that were previously imported and have not been renamed since they were imported. When you use the Import command to update a LogicLock region, the Quartus II software does not update the region's child LogicLock regions unless those regions are also selected in the hierarchy.
