Specifies command-line options for a software toolset linker. All options that you specify in the Linker tab of the Software Build Settings dialog box (Processing menu) appear as command-line options in the Command-line options box, but you can also type options based on your requirements.

The options that you type or remove from the Command-line options box may affect other settings in the Linker tab, and vice versa. For example:

• If you type the name of an object file in the Object/library modules box, the name of the object file automatically appears in the Command-line options box. If you remove the name of the object file from the Command-line options box, the file name is automatically removed from the Object/library modules box.

• If you type -L <directory> in the Command-line options box, the directory automatically appears in the Additional library directories box. If you remove the directory from the Additional library directories box, the directory is automatically removed from the Command-line options box.

• Under Link type you cannot select both Simple and Custom link script. If you select Custom link script, all options in the Linker tab that relate to the simple link type are dimmed to indicate that they are not available, and any associated command-line options are automatically removed from the Command-line options box. If you select Simple, the Custom link script option is dimmed to indicate that it is not available, and any custom link script and associated paths are automatically removed from the Command-line options box.

If you select Custom build in the Software toolset list or Library File (.a) in the Output file format list in the CPU page of the Settings dialog box (Assignments menu), this option is dimmed to indicate that it is not available.
