A set of embedded software development tools that the Software Builder uses to process software source files during a software build. For example, the Software Builder uses a software toolset assembler, C/C++ compiler, code converter, and linker to generate flash programming files.

You specify the software toolset you want the Software Builder to use in the Software toolset list in the CPU page of the Settings dialog box (Assignments menu). Before the Software Builder can use the software toolset, you must specify the directory that contains the software toolset in the Toolset Directories page of the Settings dialog box.
