To use an external text editor to create or open text files: Read This First

1. Choose Options (Tools menu).

2. In the Category list, select Text Editor General.

3. Under Preferred Text Editor, select Other text editor path name and type the directory path and name of the external text editor application you want to use in the Other text editor path name box or select the external text editor application with Browse (...).

4. Click OK.

5. Create or open a text file.
