To find text in the Text Editor:
If you have not already done so, open a text file.
Place the insertion point where you want the search to begin. More Details

Select the text in which you want the search to begin.
Choose Find (Edit menu). Shortcut If you selected text, the text appears in the Find what box of the Find dialog box.
If necessary, type the search text in the Find what box, including optional wildcard and/or special characters.
If necessary, turn on one or more of the following:
In the Search list, select a search direction.
Click Find Next.
If necessary, click Find Next again to find the next instance of the search text.
To replace text in the Text Editor:

In the Search list, select a search direction.
To replace all instances of the search text with the text in the Replace with box, click Replace All.
