Quartus II

Internet Connectivity Introduction

The Quartus® II software allows users with internet access to connect directly to the Altera® web site to perform a variety of tasks, including the following tasks:

The Quartus II software for PCs has a built-in web browser that allows you to access Quartus II internet connectivity features. If you have not already specified an external web browser to be your computer's default browser and you want to access the Quartus II internet connectivity features, you must specify an external web browser before running the Quartus II software on a PC.

NOTE If you have specified an external browser to be your PC's default browser, the external browser is automatically specified in the Quartus II software.

The Quartus II software for UNIX and Linux workstations does not have a built-in web browser, and requires an external web browser to view Quartus II on-line help and to access Quartus II internet connectivity features. You must specify an external web browser before running the Quartus II software on all UNIX and Linux workstations that use the Quartus II software.

On UNIX and Linux workstations only, you must also specify proxy settings for your internet connection.

You can open your Quartus II software web browser or default external browser and view the Quartus II support web site by choosing Altera on the Web command (Help menu).

You can also point your browser to the mySupport web site at http://www.altera.com/mysupport.
