The Run Simulation Tool command (Tools menu) is only available after you have compiled a project and you have specified a simulation or timing analysis tool. If you use this command after the design source files have changed, the simulation or timing analysis tool runs the simulation with the data from the last compilation.

Allows you to run an EDA simulation or timing analysis tool from within the Quartus^® II software without recompiling the design.
