Specifies whether the Fitter performs final placement optimizations, using one of the following options:
| Always | Directs the Fitter to always perform final placement optimizations. |
| Never | Directs the Fitter to never perform final placement optimizations. |
| Automatically | Directs the Fitter to choose whether to perform final placement optimizations. If you perform a standard fit compilation, the Fitter performs final placement optimizations. If you perform a compilation using the fast fit feature, the Fitter does not perform final placement optimizations. |
Performing final placement optimizations may improve fMAX and fitting, but also may require longer compilation time.
This option is available for APEX™ 20K, APEX™ II, Cyclone™, Stratix™, and Stratix™ GX designs only.
