This documentation was written for ModelSim SE version 5.5e for UNIX and Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 (see note below for exception). If the ModelSim software you are using is a later release, check the README file that accompanied the software. Any supplemental information will be there.
Although this document covers both VHDL and Verilog simulation, you will find it a useful reference for single HDL design work.
