Simulator settings allow you to specify options that control simulation processing, such as the simulation "focus" design entity, the type of simulation that should be performed, the time period covered by the simulation, and the source of vector stimuli.
In addition, you can turn on options for reporting power consumption, simulation coverage, setup and hold time violations, and glitches. The Simulator can detect glitches as narrow as 1 ps.
Each time you create a new project, the Quartus® II software creates default Simulator settings. You can use these default Simulator settings, or you can create and save your own customized Simulator settings.
You can use the Simulator Settings wizard (Processing menu) to specify all Simulator settings, or to specify Simulator settings without using the wizard, refer to the following topics:
To specify and save the name of the Simulator settings and associate the settings with a design entity, refer to Specifying Simulator General Settings.
To specify the simulation time period and source of vector stimuli, refer to Specifying Simulator Time & Vector Settings.
To specify the mode of the simulation, for example, functional or timing, refer to Specifying Simulator Mode Settings.
To specify options for detecting or reporting specific information during simulation, refer to Specifying Simulator Options.
