Report window

Cliques Section (Compilation Report)

Displays information regarding the cliques existing in the device, including the number of cliques in the device, the number of logic cells in each clique, and the type of each clique. A clique assignment allows you to group all logic on a speed-critical path to help achieve optimum performance. This section is omitted if the design does not include any cliques or if you pecify a Cyclone, MAX® 3000, MAX 7000, Mercury, Stratix, or Stratix GX device for compilation.

You can assign one or more currently selected nodes and/or entities to a clique of a specific type available under Assignment in the By Node tab (Assignment Organizer command). You can force the placement of a clique in a particular region if you assign a node or entity located in that same region to the clique.

Information about the types of cliques available are presented as follows:

Clique Type Description
LAB A LAB in the device.
Best The smallest possible region where the Compiler can attempt to place the clique (that is, the group of nodes or entities). This option appears only if you specify a FLEX® 6000 device for compilation.
Row A row in a device. This option appears only if you specify a FLEX 6000 device for compilation.
Half Row Right half or left half of a row in a device. This option appears only if you specify a FLEX 6000 device for compilation.
