Quartus II

Overview: Obtaining a License File

You should have received a printed copy of a license file inside the shipping box of your copy of the Quartus® II software. To use the license file that you receive with your copy of the Quartus II software, you must re-type the file using a text editor, and save the file with the file name license.dat.

You can obtain a license file, in ASCII form, from the Altera® web site. To obtain a license file from the Altera web site, you must have the following information:

NOTE For information about methods of finding your NIC number or host ID number, refer to the Solutions Database.

You can obtain a license file for the Quartus II software from the Licensing section of the Altera web site at http://www.altera.com.

After you enter the required information and submit your request, you will receive an e-mail message from Altera with a license.dat file attached, as well as the license file text. You may either use the attached license file, or copy the lines from the attached license file to an existing license file.

Go to: More information is available on licensing on the Altera® web site.
