Customizing Toolbars



To customize the appearance of all toolbars and tool palettes:

  1. Choose Toolbars (Tools menu).  Shortcut

  2. If necessary, click the Toolbars tab.

  3. If you want, turn on Show tooltips to show information about the function of a button when you point to it on the toolbar or tool palette.

  4. If you want, turn on Borderless look to remove the three-dimensional look of all buttons.

  5. If you want, turn on Large buttons to increase the size of all buttons.

  6. Click OK.

 

To create a new toolbar and place it on the Quartus® II window:

  1. Choose Toolbars (Tools menu).  Shortcut

  2. If necessary, click the Toolbars tab.

  3. To open the New Toolbar dialog box, click New.

  4. In the Toolbar name box, type in the name of the new toolbar you want to create.

  5. Click OK.

 

To add buttons on toolbars and tool palettes:

  1. Display the toolbar you want to edit.

  2. Choose Toolbars (Tools menu).  Shortcut

  3. Click the Commands tab.

  4. In the Categories list, select a toolbar.

  5. To see a description of its function in the Description field, click a button in the Buttons list.

  6. Select the button in the Buttons list, then drag it to the desired location on the target toolbar.

 

To remove buttons from toolbars or tool palettes:

  1. Display the toolbar you want to edit.

  2. Choose Toolbars (Tools menu).  Shortcut

  3. Click the Commands tab.

  4. In the Categories list, select the appropriate category that contains the button you want to remove.

  5. On the toolbar, select the button you want to remove from it, then drag the button to the corresponding button in the Buttons list.

 

To remove any changes you made to a particular toolbar and restore its original buttons:

  1. Choose Toolbars (Tools menu).  Shortcut

  2. Click the Toolbars tab.

  3. In the Toolbars list, select the toolbar you wish to restore to its original setting.

  4. Click Reset.

  5. Click OK.

 

To remove any changes you made to all toolbars, restore their original buttons, and restore the default settings for the rest of the desktop in the Quartus II software:

  1. Choose Toolbars (Tools menu).  Shortcut

  2. Click the Toolbars tab.

  3. Click Reset All.  Read This First

  4. Click OK.

  5. Exit and restart the Quartus II software to see the restoration of the default settings.  More Details
