Window Menu Commands



The Window menu is available when multiple application and/or document windows are open in the Quartus® II software.

Command Action
New Window

Opens another window of the current file or application, allowing two different views of the same file or application.

This command is dimmed to indicate that it is not available when you have a waveform file open.

Close All Closes all active windows.
Cascade Rearranges all active windows so that they overlap, with each title bar visible.
Tile Horizontally Rearranges all active windows into non-overlapping windows arranged top-to-bottom.
Tile Vertically Rearranges all active windows into non-overlapping windows arranged left-to-right.
1,2,3, ... 9 Turns on the selected window in the menu, moves the window to the front of the desktop, and makes it active.
More Windows When more than nine windows are open, opens the Select Window dialog box that lists all open windows. You can select a file to move the specified window to the front of the desktop and make it active.
