The Quartus^® II Simulator can read a MAX+PLUS^® II Vector File (.vec) and use it as stimulus for simulation. However, you cannot create or save a VEC File with the Quartus II Waveform Editor. If you wish to use the Quartus II Waveform Editor to create a waveform file for simulation, you can create a Vector Waveform File (.vwf). You can convert MAX+PLUS II VEC Files to Quartus II VWFs by opening the VEC File and saving it as a VWF. VEC Files are supported only for backwards compatibility with MAX+PLUS II designs.
