The PARAM
primitive allows you to specify a parameter that is used in the current Block Design File (.bdf) and its optional default value.
The default value of a parameter specified with the PARAM
primitive is optional. This value applies only to the BDF that contains the PARAM
primitive; it is not applied to the file's subdesigns.
Parameters specified in PARAM
primitives must adhere to the same rules as parameters defined in AHDL Parameters Statements. When the Quartus® II software compiles a project, the Compiler searches for parameter values in parameter value search order.
