Sockets for Prototyping with Actel FPGAs | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Welcome to the Actel prototyping sockets page! Actel offers a range of surface-mount sockets to make it easier for designers to prototype their designs using Actel's one-time-programmable FPGAs. These sockets are available in small quantities from Actel - just contact your local Actel representative or distributor for pricing and availability information. If you need quantities of 25 pieces or more, please contact your local vendor's representative or distributor. (For more information, see below) You can download mechanical drawings of these prototyping sockets by clicking on the drawing number. Actel provides simple step-by-step assembly flow instructions for attaching QFP and BGA sockets to a PCB. Also included is solder reflow information along with a sample standard reflow temperature profile.
Note: If an existing board layout does not have the alignment pin hole, the new SY-PQ and SY-VQ sockets can still be used by breaking off the alignment pins. For BGA sockets, please see socket drawing xx-BGxxx-AB to determine which method is best to use. If you have any questions relating to these sockets, please email Sara Arlin at Actel Product Marketing (sara.arlin@actel.com).
