Gate Oriented Optimization Approach

a. Calculate delays through netlist

Foreach Level loop:

Compute input to output delays for each gate in level

Prune Delays

End loop

b. Backtrack and identify critical gates (gates on longest path(s)).

c. Size critical gates

d. Repeat from ‘a’ until no improvement possible.
