  • New CAD tool releases only affect server scripts, not Java GUI - users are buffered from changes in environment variables, setup scripts, etc.
  • Allows remote tool access without full login privileges

• Disadvantages

  • Full power of tool not exposed via JavaCADD GUI
  • Only useful for batch-oriented tasks
    • Current tool interaction is limited to realtime display of tool log messages and ‘Kill button’ for stopping task
