Displays device and configuration device families available for configuration, programming, or bypassing in a JTAG chain. The Device name list displays the available devices from the selected device family. Turning on the checkbox next to a device family name turns on the checkboxes of all the available devices in that family. When you turn on the checkbox next to a device, you indicate that you want to add that device to the Device list of the programming list in the Programmer window when you click OK.

In the Select New Device dialog box, the checkbox next to the family of the device selected in the Device list of the programming list in the Programmer window is turned on by default.
