Memory Editor

Read or Write Hexadecimal Files (.hex) Using Byte Addressing (Intel Format)

When turned on, allows you to read or write Hexadecimal Files (.hex) in Intel format using byte addressing.

When turned off, allows you to read or write Hexadecimal Files (.hex) using word size addressing.

NOTE If you turn on Read or write Hexadecimal Files (.hex) using byte addressing (Intel format), and you use a word size other than 8 bits, only 8 bits are used to initialize each word of memory for a device. Therefore, when you compile or simulate a design, the Quartus® II software will give different results than it would with an 8-bit word size. For best results, Altera® recommends that you use a word size of 8 bits.
