Jam Byte-Code File (.jbc)

A binary file (with the extension .jbc) in STAPL format, a byte-code representation of the Jam device programming and test language. JBC files store programming data for programming, configuring, verifying, and blank-checking one or more devices in a JTAG chain. You can use JBC Files with the Quartus® II Programmer or in embedded processor-type programming environments. You can program all Altera® devices supported by the Quartus II software, and EPC2, EPC4, EPC8, and EPC16 configuration devices, with JBC Files. The JTAG chain can contain any combination of Altera and non-Altera devices that comply with the IEEE 1149.1 JTAG specification.

You can create JBC Files with the Create/Update > Create Jam, SVF, or ISC File command (File menu).

You can also create JBC Files using the Files tab of the Configuration Device Options dialog box, or using the Programming Files tab of the Device & Pin Options dialog box..
