in-system programmability (ISP)


The capability of devices, such as Altera® configuration devices, to be programmed after being mounted on a printed circuit board.

The Quartus® II Programmer supports in-system programming via the MasterBlaster download cable and the ByteBlasterMV and ByteBlaster II parallel-port download cables. The Programmer also provides the capability to program multiple devices in a JTAG chain.
