Fast region

A region in an Altera^® device in which I/O pins feed logic cells with less delay than they would normally have when feeding logic cells in other parts of the device. Any combinatorial or registered nodes can be assigned to the Fast regions.

On APEX^™ 20KE and APEX^™ II devices, there are four Fast regions which are located along the top right, top left, bottom right, and bottom left MegaLAB^™ row halves. On smaller APEX 20KE devices, there are only two Fast regions which are located along the top and bottom MegaLAB rows.
