A device assignment assigns a user-specified block of logic functions, called a chip, to a specific Altera^® device.

You can enter a device assignment in the Device page of the Settings dialog box (Assignments menu).

You can also set device options for a specific device with the Device & Pin Options dialog box, which is available from the Device page.
