Save File Changes Before Compilation, Simulation, or Software Build

If you turn on Save changes to all files before starting a compilation, simulation, or software build, the Compiler, Simulator, or Software Builder saves all open files prior to compilation or simulation. The Compiler, Simulator, or Software Builder saves all open files regardless of whether the files are part of the current project or design entity.

If you turn on Confirm before saving files, the Compiler, Simulator, or Software Builder asks you to save each changed file. When you turn off Save changes to all files before starting a compilation, simulation, or software build, the Confirm before saving files option is dimmed to indicate that it is not available.

If one or more open files are untitled, the Save As dialog box (File menu) appears automatically for each untitled file the Compiler, Simulator, or Software Builder saves.
