When you choose Save or Save All (File menu), the file(s) are saved to the current file name(s) and extension(s), as shown in the title bar(s).

If you choose Save or Save All and a file is untitled, the Save As dialog box (File menu) opens automatically, and asks you to name the file.

In addition, if you turn on Prompt to add files to project in the General Options tab of the Options dialog box (Tools menu), and you choose Save to save a pre-existing file that is not part of the current project, a prompt appears asking you whether you want to add the file to the project.
